Protectores de Cuencas Inc is using funds donated to cover costs related to the production of native trees, maintenance of reforested areas, and additional reforesting efforts inside the Guánica State Forest in Puerto Rico. This natural reserve is frequently subjected to wildland trees, greatly benefiting from this reforestation project.
This report summarizes PDC's activities from May to August 2024. During this time, the team concentrated on irrigating and maintaining newly planted trees and continued reforestation efforts along PR-333. The attached image showcases PDC's efforts, including site preparation for new plantings and removal of debris to facilitate ongoing reforestation along PR-33. In the coming months, PDC will prioritize maintenance tasks such as invasive species removal, replacement of dead trees, and the ongoing planting of native trees along PR-33.
