Here is a quarterly summary of events at PYDS:

• Our sports day event was conducted in the month of September where students showed their sportsman skills through their participation in different games and sports. Kachnar (Red house) won the Best House Trophy for the year 2019-20. 
• We celebrated the Diwali festival in school through vibrant Rangolis, adorning diyas followed by a meditation session.  
• The students from classes 9, 10 and 11 got an opportunity to perform two dance forms - Shiv Tandav and Contemporary Dance at The Doon School’s ‘Round Square Pre-Conference Cultural Evening’. The cultural evening witnessed performances by the students from the Doon School and the PYDS Learning Academy. The event was attended by different schools from India and abroad.

We are also happy to share about Sanjana – The recipient of Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange Scholarship

Every year our students apply for the Youth Exchange Opportunity AFS Intercultural Programs under which the students are provided with Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES Program) scholarship. In this, the student lives with a host family, attends an American High School, acquires leadership skills and engages in various activities to learn about U.S. Society and Values. Our students also get a chance to inform Americans about their home country and culture.

For the current academic year, Sanjana from class 11 received the scholarship. She is the daughter of a paralysed father and homemaker mother from a village called Malsi in Dehradun. In 2011, when she joined PYDS, she was an introvert. At present, budding into a confident public speaker and declamatory through Debate Competition, Story-Writing and Field Trips, etc. organised by PYDS. She grew impressively in academics and found her strength in learning English.

Two students from class 10, Meenakshi and Preeti have applied for the AFS program this year.

Nowadays, children are busy preparing for the Annual Day. Artists are buzzing creativity, wall art is being revamped, and music sounds across the auditorium through practices.

We are happy to invite you and your family for our Annual Day celebrations on Saturday, 16th November 2019. Look forward to meeting you in this little world that you helped build. :)
