Hello PATS supporters,
In our last update, we told you about the passing of PATS advisor, Wang Liyao. In his memory volunteers and supporters came together in early May in Boston to remember his life and inspiring contributions. Zhang Ying, founder of PATS China-based partner, AIDS Orphan Salvation Association (AOS), traveled from China and was among the many guests who paid tribute by planting a tree in Wang Laoshi's honor. Attached are some pictures from the day.
We also wanted to thank our supporters who pitched in their dollars during the PATS tribute matching drive on GlobalGiving! We were able to raise over $5,000 through new and existing supporters on GlobalGiving, which is an amazing achievement. This just goes to show that even for a small, volunteer run organization, we can all do a lot when we put our minds to it! All toward the common goal of continuing our mission of helping our kids have happy, healthy childhoods.
In other news, we have some volunteers visiting our kids in China towards the end of the summer, and we will post photos and additional updates after that trip.
We'll also have our quarterly newsletter available soon!
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
