It has been a matter of great regret that this project has attracted few donors on GlobalGiving and has raised only $504 in 12 months. Yet the project is achieiving great results as we reported in our previously. These students are not just receiving academic support but learning life skills, leadership sklls and training on reproductive health and mental and physical well being.
For example, the girls learn to understand the environment and how to work with others than themselves. By the end of this period, the girls are able to cope with their emotions and also manage others.
Sadly, we can support them no longer on GlobalGiving.
With great regret, The Sunflower Foundation (Australia) Inc.announces that as of 4 February, 2019, the Members of the Association voted to dissolve the Foundation. There is still so much to be done, and willing donors, but we do not have the personnel to continue. We are still solvent and monies in hand will be forwarded to projects before we close our books.
Over the past 10 years, the Sunflower Foundation, with the support of donors like you, has been educating girls to create a world in which gender equality, justice and freedom can flourish. In that time, with your help, we have awarded over $150,000 in grants to 27 projects in 7 countries.
We lit a candle rather than curse the darkness, but there is a season for everything under heaven. We rejoice in all we have achieved together. Now, we hand over the torch to those able to continue the marathon.
We thank all who have supported us to seed hope in communities and create a future where girls play a role in alleviating poverty and creating sustainable communities.
Gratefully yours,
Kim Power
