As the schools are closed and students and teachers are not able to come to the school, our Para Teachers have innovatively connected with all the children. Most of the Para Teachers are staying at the village level only, where they are teaching. But due to lockdown they are unable to meet the students or do not able to gather them at any place.
Initially GVT thought that our Para Teachers should engage the children in street, and spend some time with them doing some teaching or some games, so that the children can feel refresh and also the lessons can be revised. But due to safety measures GVT drop this idea and shared with the Para Teacher to remain at home only till lockdown ends.
One of Para Teachers, share with us about help the children virtually. Gujarat Government shares some of the assignments to the parents’ numbers and children to study from that assignments. Our Para Teacher observed that the materials is reaching with the students but the students some time does not able to do it at their own, they need some support in solving the assignments. The government teachers are not able to reach out with all the students. So our Para Teachers started approaching some of the students over phone or whatsapp application. They started calling some of the children daily and supported in government program.
Our 12 Para Teachers, are daily in connection with the children and parents as well. They helping the children in study well. We believe that the major gap due to pandemic will ruin the child’s education if parents or teachers do not support them on right time. We have taken a simple step, which might helpful for the children in continuing their study after the pandemic gets over.
GVT is also trying in some of the other villages, where our Para Teachers are not there but the local youth can help some of the children, the cost of the phone bill will be bare by GVT. Some of the government teachers have also shown interest in this and giving the names of the youth for the support. You can also help by donating to our project which will support the children who is need.
