Dear well-wishers,

Regards from Gram Vikas Trust,

In this report Gram Vikas Trust (GVT) wants to share some innovative ideas and some best practices took place with the efforts of Para Teachers in some of the government schools. We at GVT tries to make positive change in the community, and especially on the area of education. As GVT has seen less understanding and importance of community towards education. Parents are not giving importance or priority to education, the gap between school and community seems to be like wider. As parents to do not interfere in the matter of their children’s education, even some parents don’t even know in which standard their children are studying.

GVT’s Para Teacher, have tried their best to bridge the gap between school and community. Which have helped community to think and prioritize education in their life.

  1. During the summer vacation in three villages Para Teachers’ had started tuitions to the children, because most of the children engaged during vacation in roaming around the villages and forgets their teaching-learning. Which affects almost two months to settle down after school reopens.
  2. Identification of school going age children during vacation, GVT’s Para Teachers have helped government teachers to identify children who are not enrolled in the school. There were four children have identified by Para Teachers who might left out in the process of enrollment.
  3. One child has not birth certificate, and his enrollment was a problem, Para Teacher took help of the village Sarpanch and school teacher for this, and the child is in school today.
  4. During the last week of school vacation, Para Teachers have run a campaign to aware parents to send their children in school from the very first day of school, with the help of parents Para Teachers have cleaned the school.
  5. During the first week of school, Para Teachers have engaged children with different games and competition for the children to settle down in the school.

With the support and different efforts by the Para Teachers good numbers of attendance have seen in the school. Parents are also sending their children and taking care of the education. Small efforts of Para Teachers have created major changes in the school and especially on the community. Let us join together to support the children through education.
