Dear well-wishers,
In this report, Gram Vikas Trust (GVT) wants to share a story of a Change Maker. Para Teacher in one of the project school, is been working with GVT from past two years. Jayesh (Name changed) is very enthusiastic and positive towards the children’s learning. Jayesh has started many new things for good teaching and learning practices in his school with the help of government school teachers.
Children enjoying coming to school every day, parents are also well connected with the school and school staff. Parents and school teachers are able to sit at a common platform and discuss about the school related issues, and tries to solve them collectively. Few children could not able to attend the school regularly, because of the poor road condition, the faliya (street) was almost half kilometer away from the school and during the monsoon season the children of this faliya do not attend the school. Jayesh, with the help of school teachers and community members solved this issue, the villagers only prepared a road, by local resources.
Before two years ago, the situation was not like this, children were not attending the school on regular basis, school and village seems to be two separated institutions, no village members were thinking for the better education of their children. There were only two teachers, and the children were 104, for class 1 to 8. So they were also not able to take care of the teaching and learning practices. Government has put two more teachers recently and Jayesh (Para Teacher).
Now children able to get the proper education on daily basis, Jayesh tries to fill the gap by connecting the community and school by his local contacts. The change has seen by the government teachers, GVT and community members. Jayesh has dreamed that, all the village students can get good education, and will change the village situation.
Through right participation we can change the world and education system, GVT appreciate the efforts of Jayesh and wish for the betterment of the children of all the villages.
