Dear donors,
Regards from Gram Vikas Trust,
During this summer Gram Vikas Trust (GVT) with their field staff has planned to engage and mobilize community people to think on education, and give it priority so that the children can learn effectively. GVT has seen that the parents are not bothered about education, they do not give priorities to education, they do not think about their children’s learning environment. In our daily work (school working days) we used to support government school in teaching and learning practices, though our Para Teachers are belongs to the project schools we think to make them engage with the communities during the vacation time.
“Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise.”
- Victor Hugo
The vacation time activities will include meeting with parents of class-1 and class-8 children, fun activities with class-1 to 8 children, visit to all the parents of the village during the vacation. Such activities will be for more engagement of the parents in education. GVT have seen that the parents do not take interest that their child have taken admission in class-9 after completing his class-8, the parents do not taking care of the government/legal documents which are useful in enrolling the children in class-1 and few children do not get admission because of lack of documents, fun activities with children to engage them in studies, as most of them do not touch the books during the vacation and forgot all the learnings, visit all the parents and share them about the school reopening days and other important messages so that the parents can get ready for school.
Giving material help will make them reliable on GVT or some other person who is giving, but changing the mindset will help them to understand the importance of education, which will lead them to a better future of the family.
