Title: Empowering Girls Through Education, Health and Skills
The Good Cause Foundation Girls’ Program is committed to keeping girls in school, promoting menstrual health and hygiene, and empowering girls and young people to build a brighter future. We recognize that when girls are supported to complete their education, the benefits extend beyond individuals to families and entire communities.
Through this program, we train students to serve as peer leaders in reproductive health education, helping their fellow students access accurate information and make informed decisions about their health and well-being. We also distribute sanitary pads to schoolgirls and support the construction of private, girls-only latrines in schools to promote dignity, privacy, safety, and improved sanitation.
In addition, the program equips girls and young people with entrepreneurship skills, including training in the local production of reusable sanitary towels. This initiative promotes self-reliance, creates opportunities for income generation, and improves the availability and affordability of menstrual hygiene products within local communities.
Through these combined efforts, Good Cause Foundation aims to reduce school absenteeism associated with menstrual health challenges, improve girls’ participation in education, strengthen youth entrepreneurship, and promote healthier, more inclusive communities.
With continued support from donors, partners, schools, and community members, we hope to reach more girls, expand access to menstrual hygiene products, and ensure that every girl has the opportunity to learn, thrive, and achieve her full potential.
