As a society we are reaching the end of the second year that we have to live with the latent fear of a disease such as COVID-19. They have been difficult times and many learnings; Fortunately, there are advances, with an increasing percentage of the population vaccinated and little by little returning to life as we know them. We are showing that we are a resilient society. It is time to work for the most vulnerable, our children.
The Children's Hospital of the Californias as the only certified institution in pediatric health of the first level of care in the region, has kept its doors open, reinforcing the security and protection protocol against the new coronavirus, thereby accentuating the safety of our patients and staff.
With this we seek to ensure the correct operation without interruptions of our health services in consultation in the more than 20 pediatric specialties that we offer, avoiding suspending the treatment of our patients, mainly those who present health preconditions, which place them within the groups higher risk.
Our goal is to provide health services to the pediatric population, regardless of their socioeconomic level, religion, race, nationality or immigration status. Located in the border region with the state of California, United States; This being the country that has presented the highest number of infections. Our services extend to the population of Mexican-American children, with around 8% of the population that we serve annually are US residents who do not have access to public health services in this country or do not have the financial resources to access them privately.
