Young people in Uganda have just returned to a new semester of school as ours here in Canada are getting ready to finish off their year. The children in the two parts of the world share so many things but are also so different. What it all boils down to is opportunity and an awareness that not everyone has the same opportunity. Lets take school for example. Canadian children do not know that many children in Uganda so not "get" to go to school. The opportunity comes to Canadians just because they were born on one piece of land instead of another. This is a reminder that we are all the same, we are all human, but we are born into different experiences and that is what shapes our lives. We need to work together to share are uniquities and move forward as a human race. With opportunity there is so much potential. Take our dear Prisca for example. She is so clever and has such amazing strength. She worked her way up the grades to now being accepted into nursing school. With opportunity she can achieve her dreams. As a young child she lost her parents and was fighting to survive. Now she inspires many.
Dearest Prisca we are proud of you and we hope to work together to be able to provide opportunity for more children like you. Help us to build shelter on the land so that the young people we care for have a place to come home to and a starting off point for their future endeavours. Together we can create opportunities like we have for Prisca!
