ORION ORCHESTRA -SIXTH REPORT

By Adriana Gutierrez Galicia | Project Manager

The Orion Orchestra continues to establish itself, with each cycle, as an initiative that goes beyond musical training. It is a space for tangible transformation in the lives of young people in vulnerable situations, where music becomes a tool for inclusion, broadening horizons, and strengthening values such as respect, diversity, and equity. Every rehearsal and performance reflects an ongoing process of human, artistic, and educational development — made possible by a network of supporters who believe in the power of culture.

This quarter, the project expanded its visibility and impact, reaffirming its commitment to artistic excellence and to democratizing access to music.

Highlights:

  • 6 concerts held between December 2025 and March 2026
  • 21 active scholarship students in continuous training

Among the performances, notable highlights include the Natal Iluminado concert in São José dos Campos and the performance at Teatro B32 in São Paulo — experiences that demonstrate the Orchestra’s artistic maturity and its ability to engage diverse audiences, expanding access to concert music.

More than numbers, the results are reflected in the trajectories of the participating youth. During this period, students were accepted into leading institutions such as the São Paulo State Youth Orchestra—one of the most important orchestral training programs in the country—and EMESP Tom Jobim (São Paulo).

These achievements clearly demonstrate the project’s impact: young people gaining access to opportunities that were once out of reach and recognizing themselves as protagonists of their own paths — a process that strengthens as the project expands its reach.

Behind the scenes, the work continued with intensity and strategic focus. The team dedicated efforts to concert preparation, the curation of the 2026 repertoire — aligned with the technical development of the students — and the strengthening of institutional partnerships. As a result, progress was made in establishing a collaboration with Maestro João Carlos Martins, which will culminate in a concert at Sala São Paulo, with an expected audience of 1,400 people.

The next quarter is shaping up as a new cycle of growth. Auditions for new members are planned, expanding the number of young people served, alongside the concert at Sala São Paulo and the continuation of artistic and pedagogical planning for the second half of the year.

The recent trajectory of the Orion Orchestra reaffirms its role as an initiative of excellence, capable of generating consistent cultural and social impact. Each achievement reinforces the belief that investing in culture is a direct investment in people, opportunities, and possible futures.

We continue to move forward with the support of partners, families, and all those who make this work possible. The continuity and expansion of this impact depend on strengthening this network — creating space for new supporters to join this transformative journey.
