This school year, we welcomed a new location — the village of Stroevo.
Location: Situated in the Upper Thracian Plain, just 13–15 km north of Plovdiv, Stroevo is part of the Maritsa Municipality.
Population: With approximately 1,600–1,700 residents, it is a vibrant and active village in the region.
Thracian Heritage: The area is rich in history, with eight ancient Thracian settlements and eight burial mounds discovered nearby.
Domed Tomb: One of its most significant landmarks is an ancient domed tomb (dating from the late 1st to early 2nd century). It is a rare architectural site for Bulgaria and has been converted into a museum within the village.
Despite its small size, they will participate with 4 student teams, which is the highest number ever reached by a single location.
The topics chosen by the students include:
Hydroponic systems: practical applications
Friendship: does it exist in school?
"The Children of Stroevo" 2 teams
An intermediate online meeting of all teams took place in March, where they shared their progress to date.
The students have demonstrated a high level of professionalism and preparation. Our experienced scientific mentors — Elenitsa Ivanova, Nadezhda Angelova, and Radoslava Georgieva — are supporting the teams in developing the scientific rationale behind their identified problems and proposed solutions.
With our next campaign, we hope to expand our reach to at least three more new locations.
