GAED is grateful for the donations that it has received so far for the Learning Resources Center (LRC) project.
In accordance with, Conakry Capital Mondial du Livre (CCML), both organizations have been working hard to inform people about the details of this LRC project. One of our main promotional initiatives has been conducting informational sessions open to the public. The first informational session took place October 13th, 2016 at the George Washington University located in Washington, D.C. At this event, multiple speakers came to discuss education in Africa and the advantage of having learning resource centers in Guinea. At this event, we also sold our project t-shirts as well as held a small silent auction, in addition to accepting donations. We were honored to have various distinguished guests in attendance such as a representative from the Guinean Embassy in the U.S. and Miss Guinea North America. Our next informational event is scheduled to be held in January 2017 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
GAED is also excited to be producing a promotional video for the Learning Resources Center project. This video discusses the educational situation in Guinea, what exactly the learning resource center is and what it entails, as well as how the centers can benefit Guinean students and the Guinean society as a whole. We will be spreading this video through social media with hopes of reaching a larger audience around the globe. This video is scheduled to be released sometime in January 2017.
As for our next steps, GAED plans to continue promoting this project in efforts to raise more funds and reach our goal.
Thank you all for your generosity and support. Please continue to follow us on this journey.
