Environmental Center & Volunteer Village

Since our last report. Our partner on the project Architect for Humanity, Miami Chapter, has been working with staff and volunteer to put the final touches on the design of the volunteer bungalows. They are also doing more research in the use of Bamboo as our primary construction material. The Volunteer Village will be the first phase of the project. The volunteers will be able to live on site while helping us with the project. Our team is planning or next mission to work on the project in mid-December. We are already recruiting the volunteers for this upcoming mission with our project partner Community Collaboration International. On this upcoming tree our goal is to work on the plan for the fencing of the property, meet with more members of the community that we did not have a chance to meet with on our last mission. Our goal is to get the people of Arcahaie intimately involved with the project, although the center will be open an available to all the sectors of the society from all over Haiti.

We are working on a plan to form additional partnership with other organization and seeking Corporate support for the project. With these hard economic times raising the necesssary funds has been a challenge.

Our Vision is one of a Green and Sustainable Haiti. Our plan is working at a grassroots level with our partners. We are confident that we can make it a reality,however we need the financial support of our members and friends.
