Growing Our Programs, Strengthening Our Support

There is always something happening at Operation Freedom Paws, and over the past several months, our programs have continued to grow in meaningful ways.

To date, Operation Freedom Paws has served more than 620 clients, helping veterans, first responders, children, and other individuals with disabilities learn to train their own service dogs. Each team participates in our comprehensive 48-week training program, but the support we provide extends far beyond dog training.

One of the most important areas of growth has been our mental health support. We now have two full-time therapists on our team, allowing us to provide greater access to counseling and emotional support for clients throughout their journey. Having a therapist available as part of our classes remains a critical piece of the Operation Freedom Paws model, helping clients work through challenges while building confidence, independence, and a stronger partnership with their service dog.

We are also continuing to expand the ways our specially trained dogs can serve the broader community. Operation Freedom Paws has placed therapy dogs with law enforcement agencies, fire services, a hospital, and emergency dispatch, where they provide comfort and support to first responders, staff, and community members during stressful and difficult moments.

Our commitment to veterans also continues to reach beyond our own training facility. Through collaboration, advocacy, and the development of the Veteran Service Dog Coalition, we are working to help strengthen awareness and access to properly trained service dogs for veterans who can benefit from them.

While our programs continue to evolve, one thing has not changed: we remain committed to walking alongside our clients for life. From service dog training and veterinary support to mental health services and assistance during times of financial hardship, our goal is to make sure our clients have the resources they need to succeed.
