Greetings all,
I hope you are continuing to stay safe during the recent upticks in COVID-19 infections. While many of us remain isolated, we continue our work.
In the past three months, we have made progress in developing our new adaptive learning system, Agavi. In the past month, we have recruited a small group of volunteers from around the world who are busy coding up the platform and putting deep thought into user interface design so that anyone will be able to build innovative digital science content, regardless of computing skills. We are anticipating that we will be able to begin testing the early designs with our Ukrainian teachers in December.
Meanwhile, I am also working on setting up the resumption of in-country work for late 2021. We'll continue building new systems to improve digital science education while the pandemic comes under control again, with the hope of being able to resume in-person work late next year.
Please bookmark www.agavi-ed.org if you're interested in following the progress of the platform. We have descriptions of our team and soon some early prototypes. If you want to contribute time or skills to the project, we're also looking for volunteers (or pass the information on to someone you think might be interested!).
Until next time, stay masked, stay distant, and stay safe and soon we'll all be able to return to our very important in-person work.
Lev
