Help 23,000 Ugandan Grandmothers Care for Children

We are excited to share that Nyaka’s Grandmother Program is entering a powerful new chapter. After decades of proven impact, we are now expanding the program across Uganda by sharing Nyaka’s successful community-based model with other organizations. More and more organizations are finding success as they move away from institutional solutions like orphanages and instead adopting Nyaka’s approach: strengthening networks of women who open their homes and hearts to orphaned and vulnerable children. These grandmothers create real families rooted in love, culture, and belonging, raising children who grow into confident adults and, in turn, care for the women who raised them. This model doesn’t just support children; it uplifts entire communities for generations.
