Dear friend,
I hope you are well and your loved ones are safe and in good health. Amextra's health and nutrition program in Los Altos (Highlands) continues to work in Chiapas to improve the conditions of children, adolescents, and adults in the region. These are some of the achievements of October, November, and December 2021.
Nutritional measurement and monitoring . 42 boys and girls were visited by the regional team, who measured them to find out their weight and height. This information is compared with previous data and is shared with the mothers and fathers of the family. During the activity, the mothers told the team that this follow-up is a great contribution because the health center is not working at 100% capacity, as there are still several limitations due to the pandemic conditions.
Exchange of experiences. 11 women from the municipality of Ocosingo participated in an activity of reflection and exchange of experiences. They got together to prepare food, and also filmed videos recounting anecdotes and sharing how their lives have changed since Amextra's intervention.
Materials for productive projects. We visited families in the Tenango community to monitor food production (such as vegetables, eggs, and mushrooms) and listen to their progress, doubts, and suggestions. In previous visits, they stated that it was necessary to install metal mesh to improve their greenhouses and chicken coops so that on this visit 5 women were given mesh and soon we will be taking more to more families in need.
Year-end activity. We carried out multiple year-end activities with a total of 44 adults and 54 boys and girls, where food was prepared and moments of reflection and testimony were shared with the families. Everyone was very participatory and allowed us to know the perception of the beneficiaries of what we could improve in 2022
Thank you for being a part of this project and the Amextra community!
Help us transform the lives of many more families, share this project with friends and family.
Sincerely,
The Amextra team
