Constant complaints of Umang children’s violent behaviour of biting and hitting each other was taken up by AAWC’s in-house counsellor who conducted a series of sessions to help them understand and learn about the merits of good conduct and behaviour. These sessions involved various videos and stories that helped children understand the right approach to address their peers, without hurting them.
Behavioural problems are common amongst children in the red light district who observe and imbibe their surrounding activities from a very young age. However, we are happy that the Umang children are responding positively to their therapy and counselling sessions which will certainly ensure a positive attitude and behaviour in the long run.
AAWC not only works with the toddlers of women in sex trade but also those women who have been trafficked into brothel-based prostitution and their daughters through our Umeed and Udaan Program respectively. We, at AAWC, are grateful for consistent support of donors such as yourself and would like to take this opportunity to present you with our Annual Report for F.Y. 14-15.
We hope that you enjoy reading the report and understanding in-depth about the issue of trafficking and our work in the red light districts of Falkland Road and Kamathipura in Mumbai, India.
