Fun visit to play-zone MILK!
Fun visit to play-zone MILK!

When Ganesh* arrived at AAWC he suffered from malnutrition, lack of hygiene and was constantly ill. He struggled with behavioral issues and failed to thrive at three NGOs before coming to AAWC.  In the Umang program he received proper nutrition and medical care by licensed practitioners. The structure and support provided by AAWC staff has improved his delayed speech and behavioral issues. Now, he is an energetic three year old who always has a smile on his face.

AAWC had an exciting summer with numerous activities, sessions and workshops conducted for the beneficiaries. They enjoyed their summer at AAWC and hope you’ll had a wonderful vacation as well!

Organization Updates

Festive Celebrations: Mother’s Day was celebrated where the children made greeting cards using apalm printing technique for their mothers who were delighted to see their children’s art work! Udaan Felicitation was celebrated to commemorate the girls’ in-house achievements. Dance performances and skits complemented the program.

Accolades: AAWC was shortlisted among the 150 globalwinners of the Connected to Care Program, an initiative by BASF.

Capacity Building: AAWC staff attended a session on Time Management, addressing topics such as goal setting, priorities, disturbances and efficiency at work.

Monthly Check-ups:  A medical camp was conducted by Decimal Foundation for the Umang and Udaan beneficiaries.

Umang Updates

Art & Craft Activities: Umang children had fun moulding various shapes with colourful clay, developing their imagination and motor skills.

Udaan girls who learned origami in the summer later taught Umang children how to make a rose, piano and house. It was a really empowering activity where our Udaan girls became teachers and the children learnt a new craft.

The children participated in a vegetable printing activity with new vegetables later included in their diet chart as they were keen to taste them!

Dog Therapy Sessions: The children practice their English speaking skills with Ace the dog such as greetings, questions and vocabulary.

Recreational Excursions: Umang children enjoyed spending the morning at Amarson’s Garden and Taraporvala Aquarium where they observed various fishes, frogs, turtles and other creatures. The children also enjoyed their visit to the play zone MILK and explored all the toys, slides and rides. Some children were even flipping through books and enjoyed reading.
