Dear Friends and Supporters!
Petersburg Parents would like to cordially thank you for your continued support of the Nursing Care project.
We are very happy to report that with your continued support during the last few months we have expanded our project:
The nurses mainly work in hospital departments of infectious diseases in each hospital, caring the orphans with congenital illnesses that complicate clinical course of an infectious disease. The complexity of children’s diseases doesn’t allow involving our volunteers in this work. It is common for the orphans with any disease to experience the illness in a much more severe form then children under care of their parents. Since the hospital system only provides doctor care and near to none nursing care, the responsibility of nursing a child back to health after the treatment falls on the parents. The Nursing Care project provides the orphans with an equivalent of mother's or father's care while they are recuperating after surgeries or treatments. The Petersburg Parents created the Nursing Care project specifically to address the lack of accommodations for children without parents in the hospital system.
Within the framework of the project, we select and hire trained personnel who have the necessary training and medical education to be able to work with seriously ill children. We appreciate each of our nurses and we thank them for the selfless work they do. Day by day they deal with children deprived of parental attention, helping them during this difficult period of illness. They monitor the each child's condition and the course of the clinical treatment, timely carry out nursing and medical treatment prescribed according to specific needs, diagnoses and doctor's orders of each child. Nonetheless important, they provide the emotional support and simple comforting to the babies, toddlers and children while they are at their weakest times.
Moreover, our nurses provide continuous feedback on the condition and recovery of the children to our Petersburg Parents movement. This essential information on the needs of the orphans allows our movement to organize events and donation campaigns to support the needed supplies, medicine and more for each individual orphan.
