Since November 2015, 267 generous donors have raised over $76,818 to support homeless and low-income women in Washington, DC. Your support helps provide safe shelter, nutritious meals, health services, and pathways to stability for women experiencing crisis. Homelessness can happen for many reasons—medical emergencies, loss of a job, struggles with mental health, the death of a loved one, or simply the absence of affordable housing. No matter the cause, your generosity makes it possible for women to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
This quarter, we’re honored to share the story of Lynorre, a resilient woman who found healing and purpose at N Street Village. After enduring a series of personal tragedies—including the sudden deaths of her sister and mother—Lynorre spiraled into depression and found herself experiencing homelessness. She came to the Village seeking support and discovered not just shelter, but a community.
At N Street Village, Lynorre accessed health care, counseling, and job readiness services. Today, she has permanent housing and a renewed sense of self.
“Even before I stepped through the doors, I knew it was different,” Lynorre says. “I was treated with respect, encouraged to ask questions and explain what I needed.”
She now gives back to others and shares her journey to inspire women who are walking similar paths.
Your support made this transformation possible.
We are deeply grateful for your continued commitment. Together, we are creating a stronger, more compassionate community where every woman has the opportunity to thrive.
