Project Report | Jan 30, 2026
One Year at Salisbury Place

By Tiffany Ayieko | Fundraising and Events Officer

As we approach the one-year anniversary of our move to Salisbury Place and the end of this financial year, we want to highlight and celebrate some of our biggest wins over the last financial year!

This year we welcomed our two new Branch Directors into their roles, along with a fleet of committed Deputy Directors to oversee and support various areas of the organisation; we became Baker Street Quarter Partnerships’ ‘Charity of the Year’; the introduction of our ambitious ‘Big Train’!

None of this would have been possible without “No Call for Help Goes Unanswered” project and your unwavering support. Thanks to all the donations from this project, we were able to explore these new opportunities and continue providing a lifeline for thousands of people navigating mental health struggles or emotional distress, and though we are going through a lot of change, nothing will change Central London Samaritans mission to be there for everyone who needs us – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Thank you to Baker Street Quarter Partnership!

In April 2025, we were honoured to be named Charity of the Year by the Baker Street Quarter Partnership – an incredible collaboration that continues to provide us with increased visibility, in-kind donations, and new fundraising opportunities.

Thanks to their generous support and commitment to our partnership, we have worked with 9 local partners on various events and initiatives, including:

  • Sing for Samaritans at various locations and events in Marylebone, including Marylebone Rail StationMarylebone Music Festival and Summer in the Square in Portman Square Gardens
  • During Mental Health Awareness Week, we were joined for a street collection by our Corporate Support Volunteers from BCI and Frank Knight Promise
  • We delivered our ‘Time to Talk’ workshop at Duke Street Properties - the session is designed to empower leadership to support staff who might need someone to talk to
  • We were given free venue space to host various events including our Pride Brunch at Holmes Hotel, our Volunteer Summer Party at Colliers Head Quarters, our AGM and Pride Info Evening at Westminster University, and our Staff Away Day at the Baker Street Quarter office
  • First Mile donated refurbished laptops
  • There have been many opportunities to raise awareness of our work and ways organisations can support us at events like Freshers’ Week and local corporate board meetings, steering groups and charity days
  • Finally, Baker Street Quarter, have given us other various types of support internally such us fundraising for us through their summertime Wellness Activities and annual Christmas Raffle, requested our Time to Talk workshop, hosted their own Brew Monday and countless other ad hoc requests

No matter how big or small the ask, Baker Street Quarter continue to offer us their unwavering support, and though our time as Charity of the Year is coming to an end - we know their support will in no way end, and we are excited for many more incredible opportunities to collaborate with local businesses in the months and years to come.

From everyone here at Central London Samaritans, we want to say a massive thank you to Baker Street Quarter Partnership for all their support during the most crucial year here at Salisbury Place and for helping us to build relationships locally, that will sustain our work for years to come!

All Aboard the Big Train!

Last summer, we launched the Big Train – our new training programme, aimed at training a larger cohort of new volunteers, in the hopes of bringing in a larger number of new volunteers to the branch in one go.

This past August, CLS were hosted by Arup Engineering to deliver an ambitious three-day training programme to our largest cohort of trainees in years. This was programme was delivered to train and induct a larger group of volunteers that would have otherwise had to wait until the new year to enrol – a cohort whose enrolment would be invaluable to the branch over the winter months.

We plan to bring the Big Train back this new financial year to keep momentum!

Thank you!

This in no way summarises every amazing thing that has happened at Central London Samaritans this past year, but it highlights some of the wonderful opportunities we have had and how none of this would be possible without your generosity through the ‘No call for help goes unanswered’ project. It allows us to explore new, and exciting opportunities and we thank you for your continued support.
