2022 marks 15 years since Hope Health Action began our life changing work in Haiti. We've come a long way in 15 years, including expanding our work into Uganda and South Sudan.
The world is a very different place compared to 15 years ago. Recently, COVID-19 and the war in Ukraine have dramatically changed how the world looks. The pandemic was projected to push an additional 150 million people into extreme poverty (those living on less than $1.90 a day) by 2021, whilst the Ukraine war is having a catastrophic impact on global food security, where the very poorest will be hardest hit.
Against this challenging backdrop, we are unashamedly passionate about renewing our call to do everything possible in providing life-saving health and disability care for the world’s most vulnerable, without any discrimination. Including pushing towards our fundraising goal to build a new Neonatal Care Unit at our partner hospital in Haiti.
We marked our milestone 15 year anniversary at our Gala celebration in September, bringing together exisiting and new supporters from around the world, including the UK, France, the USA, Haiti and Switzerland, who stand alongside us in our goals. We were also delighted to introduce our construction partners for this project; Build Health International.
Alongside our CEO, Haiti Director and Fundraising Team, our partners from Build Health International were able to introduce the plans for our New Neonatal Unit to a number of key supporters and potential funders. There was a encouraging level of interest from the entire audience and we are progressing with discussions to secure further funding towards this project.
Whilst we know the UK is heading into a challenging winter, with the global cost of living at an all time high, we continue to take steps towards this ambitious dream and ask that you continue to support us.
Thank you.
