The remote villages in which we work were hit hard by the recent earthquake. All infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed. Aside from dZi, no other aid organizations work in these remote areas. We are focusing our funding on helping to rebuild these and the neighboring forgotten communities.
The recent earthquake in Nepal has caused massive devastation to life and property. While the media focuses on high population centers, there are many remote communities who have been devastated and will be forgotten without dZi Foundation support.
dZi Foundation's Nepal staff is on the ground in remote villages assessing and prioritizing damage. dZi will channel funds from this appeal directly to Nepal to support the prioritized needs.
We will rebuild infrastructure with a higher level of engineering earthquake resistance to ensure subsequent events do not have as devastating effect in the future.
