Our clients and residents have been busy with holiday festivities and the New Year. Many people ask us how long clients and residents will be with us or need us and it is always hard to know because it depends on the person and how willing they are to receive care and support.
In our Neighborhood Housing Care Program, there are two successes out of many to share. Over the holidays, one client rode Amtrak to California by herself! This was a 13-hour trip and she was able to successful navigate the travel herself.
Our NHCP staff work with clients on many different skills, one skill they work on is setting goals and working toward achieving them. One client set a goal for himself to start his end of life planning. He started working on achieving this goal by beginning to write his own obituary.
A success is a huge accomplishment and worth celebrating. And, we have been celebrating especially during this holiday season. Our halls have been filled with carols, sweets, and holiday cheer.
We also took our clients and residence to the Andy Warhol exhibit at the Art Museum. It was a great escape from being stuck inside because of snow and ice!
