“Sisters are Doin’ it for Themselves…” is what Annie Lenox & Aretha Franklin sang in 1985; luckily for us they had never met The Portland Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. The Portland Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, The Order of Benevolent Bliss, Inc. is a fully professed house of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Inc.®. As a 501(C)3 public charitable organization, they are dedicated to the support, education, and development of the LGBT community… AND CAN THEY THROW A PARTY!
On Saturday, August 15th we were invited to attend the 10th anniversary for the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence; which was also their grant acceptance event. At the event, Our House was given a $1,000 check to help support Our House’s programs Esther’s Pantry and Tod’s Corner. Esther’s Pantry and Tod’s Corner are used by clients of NHCP as well as other HIV/AIDS services. The Sisters have been a longtime supporter of Our House and have not only provided grants to us, but attend events and help raise awareness.
