Meyer Memorial Grant Approval

Since our last report date we have recently been awarded a grant of $200,000 from the Meyer Memorial Trust. This grant will be split into two years, and will be used for the focus of Our House’s in-home care program and to provide education and training. Part of the process for the grant involved an on-site visit. They were very impressed with the program and how well prepared we were both in the proposal and with the site visit. We will receive $100,000 per year for two years and the first check will arrive in April – what a great way to start the new fiscal year!
We are applying for several other grants including the Oregon Community Foundation as well as The Collins Foundation.

Building Infrastructure

Since we were awarded $350,000 from the Oregon State Legislature for our Neighborhood Housing and Care program for capacity building and expansion of the Neighborhood Housing and Care program, we have been building the infrastructure for expansion. We hired a part-time Administrative Assistant as well as increased hours of clinical staff. We also are upgrading computers and smartphones in anticipation of increased workloads.
In addition we are appyling for two-million dollars from CMS (Health Care Innovation Challenge Part 2) for this project. and Meyer Memorial Trust for two-hundred thousand dollars as well as other foundations. We recently have signed a contract with CareOregon for additional supplemental funding. We are currently negotiating with other providers to help fund this project. We hope to hear in the next couple of months on the results of these grant requests.

Ranked #1 Best non-Profit; Innovation Grant Award

Best Non-Profits and Top Workplace Awards
Recently we were ranked by the Oregon Business Magazzine as number one of the 100 Best Non-Profits to Work for in Oregon among the large non-profits. We have been on this list every year every year this competition has been in existence (5 years).
In addition we were ranked as the #2 Top Workplace in Oregon for small companies (both for profit and non-profit) by the Oregonian in a ceremony last month. Results for these awards were determined through surveys of staff on various aspects of the working environment including benefits, ommunications, management style and other aspects of a well-functioning workplace.
I am so very prould of not only the incredible staff and the people that manage them, but also the Board, Volunteers and the many donors that make up this amazing "Our House Family". Thank you for making this place such a great place to work!
