This project report is simply to share with you a change in sponsorship of the Needed: School Lunches Project at the Lycee Moderrne de l'Amitie (LMA) in Burkina Faso. Friends of Burkina Faso (FBF), the longtime sponsor of this project, has decided to spin this project off.
The Burkina Faso Girls' Education Fund (BFGEF) was established to continue the support of this very successful girls' education project. Through Global NEEED Burkina who has managed and implemented this project since 2025, Friends of Burkina Faso has been proud to support school lunches for girls from distant villages attending this combined middle/secondary school. For the past six years, an average of 80% of LMA students passed year-end national exams compared with 37% of middle/secondary students nation-wide. Learning conditions, including a school lunch, high academic standards and committed faculty and students account for this success.
