Bienvenue is in her final year of secondary school at the Lycee Moderne de l’Amitie (LMA). Coming from a family of 10 children, Bienvenue feels extremely fortunate to be able to pursue her education at the LMA. She takes her studies very seriously and hopes to become a judge one day. She is particularly concerned about the rights of widows and orphans in Burkina; and she dreams about how she can contribute effectively to the development of her country Burkina Faso.
Says Bienvenue, “The school canteen has played a very important role in my academic success to date. While in school, I live with an aunt and cousins 3 kilometers from the school and the distance and heat would make it impossible for me to go home for lunch. Following lunch at the school canteen, I sit under a tree and study for my next classes. I am extremely grateful to have such a canteen at my school. Your support for the canteen contributes to the capacity of the LMA to graduate young women who will contribute to the development of our great nation.”
As this school year comes to a close, students like Bienvenue prepare for national exit exams. This is particularly important for students in their final year of secondary school as the results of their exams determine whether or not they will qualify to continue on with their educations. We wish Bienvenue and her fellow classmates all the best at this important moment.
We thank you for your continuing support for these very deserving and hardworking young women!
