New Era Educational and Charitable Support Foundation, in partnership with Peace Initiative Network (PIN) and Peace Direct, has commenced the training of 20 Muslim and Christian Women in livelihood skills (Basic Tailoring skills) in two Training Centers in Dadin Kowa, Jos South. This is part of our year-long “Strengthening Community Resilience and Engaging Relevant Stakeholders in the Prevention of Violence and Recruitment to Extremists Groups in Northern Nigeria”, from January – December 2018. By the end of December 2018, the project will train and provide Sewing Machines and accessories, including Grinding Machines to at least 50 women and youths selected from Jos North and Jos South Local Government Areas of Plateau State.
So far, 20 Christian and Muslim women have completed their training in tailoring at two centers in Dadin Kowa, Jos, Plateau State. The women will receive brand new Sewing Machines and tools at a colourful presentation ceremony on Saturday, June 9, 2018.
