The Ncinci Ones are blossoming

Creating words in mother tongue

Dear Friends

The 34 children at Ncinci Ones Montessori are all doing well and are happy attending school.

The 2 Xhosa Directresses and the English Assistant are attending professional development workshops  and attended the Community of Practice workshop in Coffee Bay in August.

The Wellness Wagon came to check the children's health, and administered de-worming and Vitamin A drops for the children.

The government building in Mthatha, where the Department of Basic Education and Department of Social Development are housed, the Botha Sigcua builidng, burnt down two months ago, so the Directresses have had to go up to Mthatha a number of times, to re-register the school and all the children's documents and attendance. We are really praying that they will still be able to support our preschool.

The children are all working well and are working with learning materials from all the leaning areas.  Six of the chidlren are already reading mother tongue, isiXhosa.

A parent meeting was held recently and the attendance was good.

The children have been working in the garden and have enjoyed eating fresh butternut, beetroot and spinach. But unfortunately, due to lots of rain, the garden has taken a beating the last few weeks.

Thank you all for your support.

Kind regards

The Ncinci Ones Team
