Ncinci Ones Montessori is now accommodating 34 young, rural Xhosa children, guided by 2 Directressess and an English Assistant. The children are attending school regularly and their attendance has been very good.
The Directresses have attended workshops on "Creating your story" and "Teaching Strategies". They enjoy these workshops, as they learn many new things and are able to share many things. The workshops are educational, interactive and fun.
The Wellness Wagon came to visit the Ncinci Ones and provided de-worming, Vitamin A and weight taking of all the children.
Ncinci Ones lost their main sponsor for 2026, and thank goodness the Government is giving school a small subsidy. With our increased number of children, we are seeking extra sponsors.
The Lunchbox fund also now only sponsors us for breakfast and not for lunch. Our garden has provided beetroot, carrots and spinach and is doing very well.
The children are happy, choosing their own activities and developing continuosly. There are a number of children writing and reading in their mother tongue.
We are looking forward to the children's development over the next six months.
Best wishes
Dawn
