Narrow The Gap - Crossed paths for social impacts

Dear friends of LIN, 

2022 has been a difficult year for us at LIN and Narrow the Gap program. Due to the decision to close down LIN Center, Narrow the Gap has not been successful in carrying out the cycle to its full. Changes were made to the design in the later phases of the 2022 cycle to ensure the program is closed down properly and consistently with the organization as a whole. 

Major activities in the implementation of Narrow the Gap 2022:

• 10 July - 15 July: Approach corporates to introduce the new format of NTG 2022 - connect corporates with NPOs to support community projects.
• 15 July - 25 July: Get the confirmation of corporates to join new NTG 2022
• 26 July - 3 August: Call for adjusted proposals from NPOs following the new format of NTG 2022
• 4 August - 9 August: LIN team to support NPOs fulfill the proposals' requirements for valid proposal applications.
• 10 August - 19 August: GAC to review & evaluate the received proposals.
• 20 August: Presentation Day - NPOs to present their projects, answer questions, and receive the feedback from GACs
• 22 August: Announce the evaluation result - NPO to receive the grant from corporates
• 25 August - 30 September: Connect corporates with selected NPOs, and support first steps in their partnerships such as partnership agreement sign-off, and grant delivery and receipt.
• NTG has successfully connected 1 project with a corporate funder to receive 50 million VND to equip children in the remote and rural areas of D An Cu, An Giang province with access to computers to improve their IT literacy, and reduce lack of access to information in rural regions in Vietnam. 

Although the outcomes were not everything we expected to have when we began planning for 2022 in the first place, we are glad that our stakeholders including the community leaders, Grant Allocation Members and other NPOs have participated in and followed through with the program until the end. We are hopeful seeing their spirits and commitments with their initiatives were all positive and high. We are hopeful to see not only the NPO community but also the corporate leaders are in to share their responsibility and contribution to be able to see their projects to a completion.
