GLOBALGIVING STUDENT VISIT

The second quarter of this year was a blessing to Mzesa Day Care Centre! Students from George Washington University were sent to Kenya by Globalgiving. Two of them went to Kisumu/Kakamega/Busia, the other two went to Eldoret/Kitale/Kisumu. Before going to these places, two of these students - Gerald Cook and Kaara Weaver visited MZESA DAY CARE CENTRE!! The children had never seen “white people” at all. They were very happy, jumping up and down around Gerald and Kaara. They sung and danced for them. Gerald and Kaara added life to these children! They could not believe that they are actually near a white-skinned person.

These children made promises to Gerald and Kaara that when they grow up, and graduate, they would want to be doctors, nurses, teachers and pilots. But it was a pity because most of these children are HIV positive and they take their drugs on daily basis. But the visit by Globalgiving sponsored students made them very strong and they started thinking positive about life. One small child actually climbed on Kaara’s legs and I think Kaara loves children, because she lifted this child up and held her as her mother! This kid doesn’t forget that moment. She keeps on telling everybody that she was carried by a “White Mother”.

Thank you for this special visit to Mzesa Day Care Centre by Globalgiving sponsored students! God bless them to have given life and happiness to these poor and desperate kids.
