My Mental Health, My Wealth Campaign

Hands of Mercy is a charitable organization whose major objective is to give care and support to senior citizens and their orphaned grand children.

Mental health campaign was birthed out of the challenges faced by Hands of Mercy.

One of the challenges faced was that the beneficiaries live on under a dollar per day...... As result, beneficiaries and their orphaned grand children suffered stress leading to Mental health.

The elderly tried by all means to put food on table by picking up any thing made out of plastic to resell and buy food for the family...... These homes are mainly headed by the elderly because their, children have since passed on leaving the children orphaned.

 This led to the orphans engaging into illicit drugs because their grand parents could not afford to take them to school.

Drug abuse led to abusing their grand mothers by assaulting and raping them.

Since Hands of Mercy stepped up to intervene, the situation is becoming a thing of the past

The youths are and have developed tailoring skills.....26 youths are earning a steady income , hence putting food on the table....... 11 are still on training and will finish in a few weeks time. While 17 are still struggling with drugs.

CHALLENGES

Lack of material for training.

Lack of funds to pay trainers.

Lack of maintenance fees.

SUMMARY

We need to work extra hard to achieve our goal by putting the addicted in Hands of Mercy rehabilitation center not just skills Training which can be achieved by fundraising campaigns and support through our well-wishers.

In conclusion, we at Hands of Mercy are content with the steady but sure progress.
