Dear friends and supporters,
It has been all change at KI in the last few months. Our 11th Batch of volunteers finished their placements at the end of March. They contributed more than 12,500 hours of work towards peace and development in Mindanao.
In their year of volunteering, they directly touched the lives of more than 20,000 people. These were mainly people who were displaced due the siege of Marawi City, who were assisted in humanitarian relief, psychosocial support and awareness in child protection.
All seven of the 11th Batch are now working and utilizing their volunteering experience in their new challenges.
In the last few months, with your help, we have been able to train another group of young women and men to become advocates for peace. The ten volunteers, made up of 9 Women and 1 Man, were selected from over 100 applicants last May. They were then given 5 weeks of intensive training in basic peace building and development during May and July. They will begin their placements on 1st August 2018 as our 12th Batch of volunteers.
We will bring you their stories over the coming year.
Thank you again for your support
Mariam
