In Maizimasa Parish, 99% of households grow cassava, 95% grow millet, 90% grow sorghum, 75% grow maize and 85% grow sweet potatoes every year. The main staple food eaten daily by almost every family is "Mwiita", which is made of a mixture of cassava, millet, sorghum, and sweet potato flour. Installation of the milling machine within the parish will eliminate the 14km distance journey and 35% revenue loss from external processing fee. Improvement in the processing standards to eliminate flour toxicity and preventing rejection by formal markets. Relieve among the single mothers and adolescent girls over crushing cassava, millet and sorghum so they can return and stay in school.
