Dear Friends and Supporters of MuJER,
Last year, MuJER celebrated a major accomplishment: our first high school graduate. Alondra, who began with us in elementary school, not only completed high school but also--on a MuJER scholarship--completed culinary school. We are now happy to share with you another success story; Alondra opened a café at our Community Empowerment Center in Guatemala City. She is the chef, owner, and administrator of her own business.
Her success was made possible by her hard work and dedication, by the support of MuJER’s staff, and with financial assistance from our organization. The women who are part of our organization, just like Alondra, have many dreams they hope to fulfill and goals they are working to accomplish. Through MuJER, the women can claim an education, obtain vocational training, and develop their self-esteem. They have the potential; MuJER helps them realize that potential through support and scholarships.
Please consider supporting women like Alondra, women who are working to achieve their personal goals, overcome poverty, and improve the lives of their families and children.
Your contributions are a major source of funding for our organization. Financial contributions in any amount make a difference in the lives of the women of MuJER.
For more information on MuJER read a recent article in Women News Network: http://womennewsnetwork.net/2014/03/17/guatemala-women-sex-workers-world/.
Sincerely,
Jessica Osorio
