Creating Economic Opportunities for Sex Workers

By Jessica Osorio | Member, Board of Directors

Dear Supporters of MuJER,

Thank you for your ongoing support. Your support has helped sustain our work.

I would like to share with you one of the ways MuJER is creating economic opportunities for women sex workers in Guatemala City. One of the short courses the organization offers is designing floral arrangements. The courses offer hands-on training on the handling of fresh flowers, selecting complimentary flowers and plants, strategic cutting of plants, selecting containers, the arrangement process, and experience with local marketing. This course allows women to gain marketable work skills, while also building the women's sense of self worth.

The vocational courses that we offer, including the course in floral arrangement, is creating economic opportunities for sex workers by developing skills that they will be able to use for years to come.

Please consider making a donation to support the courses offered at our community center.

With gratitude,

Jessica Osorio
