Dear friends and supporters,
I am very pleased to write to you with another update on the progress of our MS Specialist Nurse programme, and I hope that this finds you well and staying warm during these very cold days.
In September, we launched another brand new MS Nurse, this time at Redbridge in North East London. You can read more about this exciting development on our website: https://mstrust.org.uk/news/introducing-new-ms-trust-funded-ms-nurse-redbridge
We are working with more sites than ever before to place MS Nurses around the country, and we have made excellent progress in several areas. The only thing holding us back now is funding.
Your generosity towards this programme has meant that people living with MS in areas with the worst caseloads have been able to gain access to an MS Nurse, possibly for the first time. We know that 8 in 10 people with MS live in an area with an unsustainable caseload. We would need a further 149 full time MS Nurses to reach a sustainable level of staffing and care for people with MS.
We could not do anything to address this terrible situation without the help of donors like you, so may I thank you again for your faith in our programmes and your care for people living with MS.
Thank you, and here's wishing you a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
With warmest wishes
Lucy Taylor
