Thank you to everyone has who has donated towards our MS Nurse Support Programme, we have been busy putting your donations to work.
We have carried out research which proves that specialist nursing for people with MS varies widely across the country - the quality of support you get depends on where you live. We have been aware of this situation for some time, but in order to bring about change, it is vital that we have the evidence to back it up. Thanks to all our donors, we now have that evidence in place.
As well as putting us in a much stronger position for campaigning, your donations are helping to fund one on one crisis support for MS nurses across the UK right now.
Many nurses are working alone with limited funding, limited resources and with excessive numbers of patients. So far this year we have supported around a dozen nurses whose services were on the brink of collapse. Having someone to back them up and help them fight for funding can really make the difference and help to turn things around for their patients. That is the support that our MS Nurse Advisor provides, a role which is partly funded by donations to our appeal.
We have made progress and, with your support, we will keep working to ensure everyone with MS has access to the best healthcare.
