When families have spent six months in one of our safe houses having fled Domestic Abuse they are then ready to begin new lives with their children. If they are lucky they will be offered accommodation close to the house so that they can continue to grow their support network and their children can continue at the same school and maintain friendships etc. When they leave us they then need everything to start building their new home. All of our residents are in receipt of state benefits so being in a position to furnish a new home is beyond their finances. We therefore rely on the goodwill of our supporters.
The project will mean we can offer the families some financial support to buy the bare essentials to be able to start their new lives in their new homes.
The families will feel more settled when they have what they need around them. Essentials to enable them to cook a meal for their children and be comfortable will improve self esteem and self worth. All of our families have been through desperately difficult times and to be able to help them with their "Next Chapter" would be amazing. They will also continue to receive support from our team for both themselves and their children
