News from Mountain Camp

By Louisa Oldfield | Key Supporter Relationship Manager

Time to get going
Time to get going

In the last few weeks, thanks to your support, our young people have braved the Brecons and taken part in Mountain Camp, their first residential camp with Youth Adventure Trust.

Being away from home can be tough enough for some of our young people but Mountain Camp throws all sorts at them. It challenges them to build resilience and work together. Through the tears and laughter Mountain Camp has been a very special experience for our young people and has helped them forge friendships which will last through the programme and, we hope, beyond.

Feedback from a parent;

I am really grateful (to YAT) for giving my daughter experiences that due to my situation I am not going to be able to do with her.  Things that have helped her challenge herself and push what she believes of herself, I believe have helped her discover who she can be. All the positive adult role models are also something that I believe has helped her to grow and see good possibilities for her future!

Thank you for helping our young people to move their own mountains.

You can find out more about volunteering for us on our website or by contacting Jon Rich, our Volunteers Manager, email jon@youthadventuretrust.org.uk.

If you would like to get your friends involved, then perhaps you could fundraise for the Youth Adventure Trust - take on your own personal challenge by joining Team 25, join our expedition across the Namib Desert or get a team together for our 10 Peaks Challenge 9th June 2018.
