Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit wrapped up it’s programming with a fun-filled summer. The summer kick-off began with an outdoor touring performance of Mwindo that travelled to over ten neighborhoods throughout metro-Detroit. Mosaic’s young artists were excited to share their gifts of light and love with audiences young and old.
Summer camp season began as Mosaic closed the curtain on Mwindo. Over two hundred campers across Detroit joined Mosaic at six neighborhoods across the city. They spent their time in an immersive experience exploring artistic expression through song, dance and theatre. On the last day, campers took the stage to share their creative expressions with their families and friends in a final performance.
Throughout the summer a group of playwrights and lyricists earned a spot in Mosaic’s New Voices Detroit program. New Voices Detroit is a unique competition providing youth playwrights and composers an opportunity to partner with professional coaches to bring their original plays and compositions to life. Over three hundred guests attended the New Voices Detroit Arts Festival held in August at the Detroit Institute of Arts for a live performance of their works.
Mosaic is excited for the next program year. Thank you for partnering with Mosaic!!
