Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit returned to in person performances in February with Blood at The Root by Tony-nominated Dominique Morisseau. Mosaic was excited to invite people back into our home at our Black Box Theatre for three sold-out performances including a livestream option for those unable to join us in person. This was quickly followed by a sold-out concert featuring original compositions by The Mosaic Singers.
Additionally, Mosaic is now accepting requests for in person community performances. On March 14 the ensemble took our unique brand of arts education on the road to four schools with limited access to arts education impacting over 150 youth. The day ended at an event sponsored by the NAACP Grosse Pointe/Harper Woods commemorating one of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s last public speeches in 1968 at Grosse Pointe South High School.
As the program year winds down Mosaic is in rehearsals for the release of Mwindo, a touring performance taking art into the community. Presently Mosaic is scheduled to perform Mwindo in six communities throughout metro Detroit.
Leaning into the success of last summer's outdoor camp experience, Mosaic is taking summer camp on the road again. There are six camps being offered in communities across Detroit.
Thank you for partnering with Mosaic!
