Ten (10) years old pleasant, smart and prompt Ritwik* studies in 4th Standard of Model School in Sundarbans- Kishalaya Sishu Siksha Niketan. Ritwik* belongs to a financially backward and marginalized family of Nandakumarpur village. There are Six (6) members in Ritwik’s* family- Ritwtik*, one younger brother, his parents and grandparents.  They live in a mud house with tiled roof. His father is the lone earner of the family. He works hard as a marginalised farmer and meagerly earns around INR 5000.00 per month. Ritwik’s* mother is a home maker and judiciously manages the family expenses to satisfy the basic needs.

Ritwik* got admitted at Sishu Sreni 1 the nursery level for beginners. Though a little agile and naughty he is a sincere and attentive student and also a good performer in the examinations since the very beginning. He also had been a regular participant of the online classes during the prolonged closure and suspension of formal classes. In the last class promoting examination from 3rd to 4th Standard that held on December, 2021 she scored more than 83% marks. He has deep interest in Bengali and Mathematics.

With the new experience of the online class mode Ritwik* was excited. But now after having the school resumed to offline mode he is now extremely happy.

Beyond studies Ritwik* loves reciting, drawing and playing with friends, which he had been missing since the pandemic started.

He aspires to be a Doctor to serve the community and also earn for his family. Both the parents have the zeal to make both their children learned and self reliant.
