Poushali* Kar is a calm and quiet little girl with a very gentle disposition studies in 4th standard of the model school in deep Sunderbans ‘Kishalaya Sishu Siksha Niketan’. She has been studying in the school since last six years. She was admitted at the infant level Sishu Sreni I. It is observed that ever smiling by nature and humble as well Poushali* always keeps herself neat and clean.
Her father Mr. Sujit* Kar is a Civic Volunteer by profession under the Police Dept. of Govt. of West Bengal and the lone earner of the family. Thus he earns around only INR 6000.00 per month. Her mother Mrs. Srijeeta* Kar is home maker managing the household chore in steep hardship with a lasting smile.
Since the very beginning Poushali* has been a hard working and consistent good performer. She has scored more than 80% marks in the last decisive annual examination of 3rd standard. In her words, “I am happy but will try to perform better in next examination.”
Also as a very punctual and an attending student he has caught attention of the teachers. Sudeshna is good in all subjects gradually progressing in her studies. But she has special interest in Mathematics and English which is prominent in her marks. She is good in almost all subjects, specifically in English & Bengali Languages and Mathematics. She has a very clear and legible handwriting. She maintains a nice Calligraphic style while writing English.
Poushali* has deep interest in sports activities and Dancing. She was one of the five selected girls who participated in a Corporate Company organized Cultural Event at Kolkata city.
A person of a shy but pleasant smiling personality Poushali* aspires to be Teacher when grows up.

We have been trying to afford quality education for a Holistic Development of the Children from the financially, socially and geograpcally marginal communities in deep Suderbans since more that a decade now. Model School in deep Sunderbans is a part of that effort.

Yet we urge them to please expand our family of supporters by conveying messages for sharing hands to all your aquintances in this difficult but very essential journey of giving the less fortune children a chance to come forward and be comptent contenders of future struggles.
