7 years old little girl Shruti* Giri of Nandakumarpur village, studies in 1st Standard of our Model School – ‘Kishalaya Sishu Siksha Niketan’.
Her father Mr. Niranjan* Giri is a daily wage labourer and earns around INR. 4000.00 per month- though with irregular earnings. Shruti’s mother Mrs. Ashoka* Giri is a home maker and struggles to match all family needs with small earning. They live together jointly with other family members. Altogether there are 9 (nine) family members in the family.
Though struggle enormously with limited and irregular earning yet the Parents have great aspirations on their daughter having proper education and build a strong future for herself. Shruti’s father thus says, “Though our financial condition is not so good, we want to bring up our daughter under the influence of a model school with proper lessons of lives and good education. ‘Kishalaya Sishu Siksha Niketan’, the model school run by Sabuj Sangha, has given us such great opportunity even in the deep remote corner of Sunderbans, which we didn’t thought ever before”
Shruti is an attentive girl sincere to her studies. Quiet by nature Shruti has deep interest in all subjects. Thus she gives equal priority to all subjects taught. Yet she loves English the most. Her handwriting in both English and Bengali is gradually improving and shows betterment.
Shruti is confident to perform better with hard work. She has the determination to perform which she expresses to her teachers. She has scored more than 80% in the recently held 2nd summative evaluation test.
Besides, she also exhibited her excellence in extracurricular activities. She draws pictures quite confidently. She remained remarkable in her performances in games as well. One of the teachers of our school mentions that as Shruti lives in the vicinity she was seen a good performer both in Singing and Dancing.
She is person of good health. With regular health monitoring made at Sabuj Sangha’s own rural hospital ‘Swarnalata Sabuj Seva Sadan’ Shruti was tested as a fit person capable for all sorts of activities.
Shruti has great aspirations to build a strong career and support her family needs. Thus she aspires to be a Nurse by profession when grows up.
